Fashion Hound We are f**king super heros when you think about it! We can walk in horrendously uncomfortable heels and mend from matters of the heart that hurt even more, juggle jeans and careers so tight that they can sometimes cut off our circulation, paint our nails in a moving car whilst carrying out more than one poignant conversation – twisting and turning more than Ayrton Senna, mask a bloated (that time of the month) belly with a well accessorized smile and a maxi and in my case, master a thrift store trip with $3 in my pocket to prove it! I’m surrounded by stellar sistas…so today let’s all give ourselves a sartorial shout out! Don’t get me wrong I love decadent fashion, but there is something so god damn satisfying about snapping up a killer piece for an absolute steal.

Some prefer to keep their charity store cheapies on the sly but I shout my finds from the fashion roof top. Being stylish yet savvy…sh*t yeah!!

I go crazy for anything hippy/flowy/bohemian so you can imagine how excited I was to find this light as a feather lace poncho for 1 pound in an RSPCA charity store, here in the UK.

Quite simply, Stevie Nicks inspired perfection!

So pop your sustainable style hat on, put a few quid in your pocket and take a peek around your local charity stores…see what you can find for a pretty penny!

Opportunity Knocks

How often do you follow your intuition? Are you brave enough to say yes when it would be much easier to say no? Do you open the door when opportunity knocks? Well I decided to let go this week and it’s led me down a lovely fresh path – a new job, a pretty place to stay and on top of that my connection to my passion continues to expand. It’s when you are in this state that sublime things can happen, including unexpected style finds! On a random Friday errand run, I followed my nose into an Oxfam Op shop and surprise, surprise… I struck fashion gold. A gorgeous, exquisitely tailored Cheongsam tuxedo, a soft as silk leopard print sweater and the sweetest silver lace up boots. The best bit – A grand total of 20 quid and the money goes to Oxfam – giving opportunity, to others. Inspiration is everywhere – why not invite it. When opportunity knocks, be it in fashion or in life – open the door!
